Details for our Organizational Campout; September 7-9, 2012

In just under two weeks we will have our first Montana Council Jamboree Contingent gathering! In addition to sharing the details of the Jamboree trip next year, your leaders have a fun time planned. Upon arrival, you will find out which of our two Troops you will be in and who your Troop Leaders are. At least one parent/guardian is encouraged to attend the Parent’s Meeting on Saturday afternoon to answer questions. Here’s a brief rundown of what you’ll need to bring:

* Tent (you can share a tent with another Scout if you arrange it with them)

* Sleeping bag/gear

* Class A uniform (complete) and 2 Class B shirts (with outdoor shoes/boots)

* Your current BSA Health & Medical Record (to keep with you)

* $20 for food (covers the Scout/Venturer and his/her parents)

Scouts and Venturers will camp with their Troop in the main parade grounds. Parents are welcome to stay at K-M Scout Ranch and will have a nearby separate camping area. Meals will be prepared for us and served in the dining hall. If you have food allergies or anything else we need to be aware of, please send us an e-mail or call one of the Scoutmasters.

Here’s a look at our tentative schedule:
Friday: arrival and check-in.
4 p.m. Arrival and check-in begins  (supper is on your own – bring it or eat before arriving)
8 p.m. Cracker Barrel (bring your favorite snack to share)

Saturday:
8 a.m. Flags and breakfast (Scouts & parents)
9 a.m. Jamboree Overview (Scouts & parents)
10 a.m. Patch Designs and other Jamboree Gear (Scouts & parents)
11 a.m. Troop & Patrol breakout sessions (Scouts)
12 p.m. Lunch (Scouts & parents)
1 p.m. Troop/Patrol Team-Building events (Scouts)
3 p.m. Troop/Patrol Leadership Skills & Service (Scouts)
Parent’s Meeting (parents)
5 p.m. Supper (Scouts & parents)
8 p.m. Campfire – each Patrol will have a skit/song/etc. (Scouts & parents)

Sunday:
7:30 a.m. Flags and breakfast (Scouts & parents)
8:00 a.m. Scout’s Worship (Scouts & parents)
8:30 a.m. Departure (all out by 9:30 a.m.)

So that we may be prepared and have enough food, please RSVP to let us know that you will be attending. Include whether your parents will be camping at K-M and/or dining with us.

  1. Hi everyone! We weren’t very clear about Friday supper… each person should either eat before arriving, or bring their own supper. Friday supper will not be provided. However, we anticpate lots of sharing of your favorite snacks/goodies as we meet and greet each other at the Cracker Barrel, so please bring something!
