Jamboree Gear Directions

Troop B340 Scoutmaster Loren Brown has put together this very informative guideline for all of the gear that we picked up last weekend at Shakedown.  You can download it here:  Jamboree Gear Directions Contingent.

NOTE:  Troop A302 has an Orange paracord woggle.                                             Everyone: please be sure you put your Troop’s woggle (or the paracord) in the front pocket of your backpack – and if you haven’t made your woggle yet, we can do that on the long airplane ride!

Mandatory change to medical forms

Montana Jamboree Scouts and Scouters:

We just received this email; all participants will have to sign the attached form. Please print the form linked below and bring it to the mandatory shakedown Campout in Great Falls next weekend.

Dear 2013 National Scout Jamboree Unit Leader:

We need your assistance. The jamboree medical consent to treat and general release forms have been revised as of May 30, 2013. The previous online process of “click to agree” is no longer valid. Everyone must print and sign the revised form. Your participants are being asked to provide you with a signed copy. Please collect these forms and insure each is appropriately signed by the participant and their parent/guardian. You and each of your co-leaders must also provide a signed copy of the form. You will turn in the forms at jamboree check-in.

We apologize for the inconvenience and the late change in this process. This change was determined necessary so as to avoid any confusion with local medical facilities that may be called upon to provide treatment in the event of an emergency.

The form can be printed by clicking the link below:

Yours in Scouting,

Larry Pritchard
Director, 2013 National Scout Jamboree

Please ignore any invoices you may receive from EF Smithsonian Travel

Apparently EF Smithsonian Student Tours, the travel company for our upcoming Jamboree Trip, is having difficulty keeping their communications directed only to the Great Falls Scout Office.  Recently, several Scouts have reported receiving a $1,733 invoice in the mail – please disregard this invoice and do not pay it.  Your travel arrangements are part of your Jamboree fees you (should have) already paid.

Earlier this year, many of you erroneously received an e-mail from them, too, and our guidance was the same then – ignore the communication.

If you should receive further communication from them, please ignore it, too (unless we specifically direct a response through this MT Jambo site).

Further questions?   Please contact your Scoutmaster.
